Friday to bring showers across Estonia

Friday will bring showers and possible thunderstorms across Estonia, while the night will remain warm and mostly dry, ERR reports.

A low-pressure system will move from Scandinavia toward the White Sea, bringing rain to parts of the Baltic region along its southern edge. At the same time, a ridge of high pressure will extend from Western Europe toward Scandinavia.

Overnight, skies will be partly cloudy and variable, with isolated showers. Southwesterly winds will reach 3 to 9 metres per second, with gusts of up to 15 metres per second on the coast. Temperatures will range from 14 to 19 degrees Celsius.

Friday morning will bring partly cloudy skies and occasional showers, with the greatest chance of rain in western Estonia. Southwesterly winds will reach 3 to 8 metres per second, up to 10 metres per second on the coast, with gusts of up to 14 metres per second. Temperatures will rise to 17 to 19 degrees.

During the day, skies will remain cloudy with sunny intervals. Showers will occur in many places and thunderstorms are possible. Southwesterly and westerly winds will reach 5 to 12 metres per second, with gusts of up to 15 metres per second and up to 17 metres per second on the coast. Temperatures will reach 18 to 23 degrees.

Cloud cover will decrease in the evening, with only isolated showers remaining. Temperatures will fall to between 17 and 20 degrees.

Saturday will bring variable cloud cover, showers in many places and a risk of thunderstorms. Cloud and rain will ease in the evening. Sunday will bring only isolated showers, with temperatures averaging 18 degrees on Saturday and 21 degrees on Sunday.

On Monday, the average temperature will rise to 23 degrees. The first half of the day will be clearer, but cloud cover will thicken from the west in the afternoon. Showers will reach the islands and spread to the mainland. Tuesday will be cooler and fairly cloudy, with occasional rain.
