Woman killed in Vilnius district after ex-partner breaks into home

A woman was killed in Vilnius district after her former partner, who was subject to a domestic violence order, allegedly broke into her home through a smashed window, LRT reported.

Police received a report at around 2 p.m. on Tuesday that the man had broken the window and entered the woman’s home. He was also reported to have injured her.

Medical workers later confirmed the woman’s death.

Law enforcement has opened a pre-trial investigation under Article 129 of Lithuania’s Criminal Code, which concerns murder.
