Scammers steal 22,421 euros from Vilnius resident

Scammers took 22,421 euros from a Vilnius resident who planned to invest online, LRT reported.
The man, born in 1963, contacted the Vilnius City Third Police Commissariat on Monday. He said that on July 16, after filling in an online advertisement for investment services, he was contacted by an unknown person by telephone.
The caller spoke Russian and persuaded him to invest through an online investment platform. The man was then defrauded of his money.
Police have collected material in connection with a fraud investigation.
