Jüri Luik and Colonel Fredi Karu join ERR’s Ukraine Studio

ERR’s Ukraine Studio will feature ambassador Jüri Luik and Colonel Fredi Karu, chief of staff of the Estonian Air Force, at 9:35 p.m. on Monday.

Luik will discuss whether Ukraine’s changing position could finally push Russian President Vladimir Putin to the negotiating table. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy may consider his visit to the United States a success, as several associates of US President Donald Trump have begun supporting Kyiv. The United States is ready to move forward with the production of Patriot air defence missiles in Ukraine, while Congress is discussing sanctions against Russia.

Karu will discuss Ukraine’s efforts to build a large fleet of aircraft to keep Russian planes carrying glide bombs as far from the front line as possible. He will also address who controls Ukrainian airspace and how the use of aircraft in the war has changed in recent years.
