Artūras Pučėta appointed VSD strategic communications chief

Communication specialist Artūras Pučėta has begun leading the Strategic Communications Department of Lithuania’s State Security Department, LRT reported.

“VSD is, professionally, one of the most interesting organisations, with a meaningful history and activities that highlight the importance of objective, timely and clear information for the country’s development and resilience,” Pučėta said in a statement issued by the department on Monday.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute and strengthen public trust in the intelligence institution,” he added.

Previously, Pučėta worked at the communications and marketing agency Fabula, the Lrytas news portal and LRT.

He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in communication and information sciences from Vilnius University.
