The Riigikogu Board has announced a public competition for a new director of the Riigikogu Chancellery, ERR reported. The successful candidate will receive a monthly base salary of 6,900 euros and serve a five-year term.
The director will be responsible for managing the chancellery’s work as a whole and ensuring its efficiency. The role includes setting the organisation’s strategy and goals, developing its priorities and organising their implementation.
The director’s daily governing body and main partner will be the Riigikogu Board. The director will also represent the chancellery in relations with the public, international institutions and cooperation networks.
The competition is open to a competent, trustworthy candidate who upholds the values of public service ethics and has strong leadership skills, impartiality and dedication.
Applicants must submit a motivated application, confirmation that they face no circumstances preventing them from taking office, a curriculum vitae with the contact details of two referees, and a copy of a document proving their education. Documents in Estonian must be submitted by August 23, 2026.
The current director of the Riigikogu Chancellery is Antero Habicht, who was appointed at the beginning of 2022 for a five-year term after his predecessor, Peep Jahilo, became director of the Office of the President.
