Mudryk cleared to return after resolving doping case

Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk can return to competitive football after resolving his doping case with the English Football Association, ERR reported.

The 24-year-old Ukraine international was charged with violating doping rules after testing positive for a banned substance. He was provisionally suspended in December 2024 and has not played in a competitive match since November 2024.

The FA initially imposed the maximum four-year ban. Mudryk challenged the decision at the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

The football association has now confirmed that disciplinary proceedings against Mudryk have ended. The player admitted violating anti-doping rules and accepted a suspension equal to the time he had already served, allowing him to return immediately.

Mudryk thanked those involved for giving him the opportunity to return to football.

“As I have said throughout this entire case, I have never knowingly or intentionally used any banned substance,” he said.

Chelsea said it would help Mudryk regain his best form and return to the team and the pitch. The player will join the club’s pre-season training camp.
