Suspect identified in possible assault of young man in Druskininkai
A suspect has been identified in the ongoing pre-trial investigation into the assault of a young man in Druskininkai, reports lrytas.lt, citing the Prosecutor General’s Office.
Prosecutors confirmed that a person born in 2008 has been formally charged in connection with the incident. The pre-trial investigation remains active, with authorities working to establish the full circumstances of the case.
The case gained attention after a video circulated on social media two weeks ago, allegedly showing the injured young man lying on the ground with a bloodied face. According to social media accounts, the victim had attended a party, behaved inappropriately, used offensive language, and refused to leave when asked, leading to a confrontation in which he was allegedly beaten.
Police received a report from hospital staff on July 18 at around 2:40 AM, stating that a man (born in 2008) had arrived with multiple facial injuries. The victim was unable to explain the circumstances at the time and was later transferred to Kaunas Clinics for further examination. Authorities launched a pre-trial investigation into minor bodily harm on July 22.
