Woman found dead in Kaišiadorys district, intoxicated suspect detained

Lithuanian police have launched a pre-trial investigation after a woman was found dead with injuries in the Kaišiadorys district, local media LRT reports.

The body of a 62-year-old woman was discovered in Vilūnai village on Saturday evening at around 18:25. Authorities suspect foul play and have detained a 68-year-old man in connection with the case. The suspect, who tested with a blood alcohol concentration of 3.41‰, has been placed in custody.

A pre-trial investigation for murder has been initiated.
