Warmer and drier weather to return briefly this weekend

Lithuania will experience a temporary return of warmer and drier weather this weekend, with temperatures reaching up to 28°C on Sunday, according to the Lithuanian Hydrometeorological Service.

Forecaster Ineta Daunoravičiūtė said Friday night will be partly cloudy with possible brief showers in some areas. Patchy fog is expected to form in eastern regions, with light westerly to southwesterly winds. Saturday will see little change, with thicker clouds spreading and brief showers possible in western areas. Winds will remain moderate, and temperatures will range from 8–13°C at night (14–16°C on the coast) to 20–25°C during the day.

Sunday will bring more summer-like warmth, with daytime temperatures climbing to 23–28°C, though coastal areas will stay cooler at around 20–22°C. The day will be partly cloudy, with brief showers and isolated thunderstorms possible in western regions in the afternoon. Southerly winds will strengthen to 8–13 m/s, and nighttime temperatures will remain mild at up to 17°C, with no significant rainfall expected.

A new cyclone will approach from the west by Monday night, bringing widespread rain and thunderstorms. Showers, some heavy, will persist into Tuesday, accompanied by strong winds. Temperatures will range from 13–18°C at night to 19–27°C during the day, slightly cooler on the coast. By Tuesday, the cyclone will weaken, reducing rainfall but maintaining strong westerly winds of 9–14 m/s. Temperatures will drop slightly, with highs of 18–23°C.
