Finance minister appoints Jolanta Butkevičienė as communications advisor

Jolanta Butkevičienė has been appointed as the communications advisor to Lithuania’s Finance Minister Taurimas Valys, BNS reports.
Butkevičienė previously served as an advisor to MP Artūras Zuokas of the Centre Right Union. She was a member of the Šalčininkai District Council, ran in the 2020 parliamentary elections with the Freedom and Justice party, and worked as an advisor to Agriculture Minister Virginija Baltraitienė from 2014 to 2016.
Her career also includes roles as CEO of the holding company BMA LT, which operates the First Baltic Channel, director of the news service at TV3, and host of the programme “Savaitės komentarai” (Weekly Commentary).
The Finance Ministry’s deputy ministers are Janušas Kizenevičius, Kęstutis Kvaraciejus, Rūta Carik, and Lineta Jakimavičienė, formerly deputy director of the Jonava Municipality Administration and advisor to mayors. Ingrida Ragaišienė has been appointed as the ministry’s chancellor.
Valys took over as finance minister in July, replacing Kristupas Vaitiekūnas.
