Russian-speaking scammers tricked a man in Vilnius out of nearly €23,500, police reported, as cited by LRT.

The victim, born in 1955, filed a report on Monday stating that on July 17 at around 12:30 PM, unknown individuals called him at home in Vilnius. The callers, who spoke Russian, claimed to be employees of Google, a bank, and police officers. They deceived the man into transferring €23,460.

A pre-trial investigation has been launched for fraud and the impersonation of a state official or a person performing public administration functions.
