Rain to persist as another cyclone approaches midweek

Lithuania will see continued rain as a new cyclone is expected to arrive midweek, according to the Lithuanian Hydrometeorological Service, as reported by LRT.

On Tuesday, most regions will start with a sunny and dry morning, but showers are likely to develop later in the day. A low-pressure system will bring cumulonimbus clouds, leading to rain, with the heaviest downpours expected in the afternoon. Short but intense summer showers are forecast, with possible thunderstorms and hail in some areas. Western regions will experience denser clouds and more persistent, though lighter, rain, along with strong winds. Temperatures will range between 16–21°C.

On Wednesday, the cyclone will begin to move away, but no significant changes are expected overnight. Skies will remain overcast, with short-lived rain in many areas, though intensity will decrease. Wind gusts along the coast may reach 15–18 m/s, with overnight temperatures between 10–15°C. During the day, cloud cover will persist in the eastern part of the country, with rain more likely in the east in the morning and in the west in the afternoon. Daytime temperatures will reach 17–22°C.

The second half of the workweek will follow a similar pattern. On Thursday, a new low-pressure vortex will reach the country, bringing overcast skies and scattered showers, more intense during the day with possible thunderstorms. Overnight temperatures will rise to 10–15°C, with daytime highs of 17–22°C.

By Friday, as the cyclone moves away, the night will be drier, with only isolated showers expected. Overnight temperatures will range from 9–14°C, while daytime temperatures will climb to 19–24°C.
