Lithuania turns back 20 irregular migrants at Belarus border

According to the report, Latvian border guards also prevented 18 irregular migrants from entering their country on Saturday, while Polish authorities recorded no such incidents on Friday.
Last year, Lithuanian officials prevented over 1,600 people from illegally crossing from Belarus, with 929 cases recorded so far this year. Since the start of the migration crisis triggered by Belarus, Lithuania has blocked the entry of 25,500 irregular migrants.
The influx of migrants to the eastern EU states began in 2021, with Western countries accusing the Minsk regime of orchestrating the crisis.
