Woman in Vilnius offers €400 bribe to police investigator
A woman in Vilnius attempted to bribe a police investigator with €400 to avoid criminal charges for a man accused of domestic violence, LRT reports.
In the early hours of Tuesday, a 68-year-old woman offered the money to an investigator from the Vilnius County Chief Police Commissariat’s Response Directorate. She allegedly asked the officer not to hold a 60-year-old man accountable, to refrain from launching a pre-trial investigation into the domestic violence allegations, and to allow him to return home.
The incident took place around 2 a.m. in an apartment on Rodūnios Road. Police have since initiated a pre-trial investigation into the bribery attempt.
