Tamašunienė: visiting notary could improve access to services in regions
Lithuania’s acting Justice Minister Rita Tamašunienė says legalising the institution of a visiting notary could help improve access to notarial services in the country’s regions, LRT reports.
According to Tamašunienė, such changes are necessary because some regions currently struggle to attract notaries. The minister discussed the issue in a meeting with the Lithuanian Chamber of Notaries on Monday, the Justice Ministry said.
The ministry plans to review the Notariate Law and related substatutory acts this autumn, as well as prepare the necessary legislative amendments. Additionally, to create a more efficient notarial service system, it intends to revise the regulations governing competitions for notaries and assessors, as well as the organisation of the notaries’ qualification exam.
