No irregular migrants recorded at Lithuania-Belarus border, Latvia turns back 90

No irregular migrants were recorded at the Lithuania-Belarus border last week, the State Border Guard Service reported on Tuesday, citing BNS.

Latvian border guards turned back 90 migrants on Monday. Meanwhile, Poland also reported no attempts at illegal entry on its border with Belarus the previous day.

This year, Lithuania has denied entry to 888 irregular migrants. In 2025, there were over 1,600 recorded attempts to cross into Lithuania from Belarus at unauthorized locations, compared to 1,002 in 2024.

Since the start of the migration crisis instigated by Belarus, Lithuanian border guards have prevented more than 25,000 foreigners from entering the country illegally. The influx of migrants into the eastern EU member states via Belarus began in 2021, with Western nations accusing the Minsk regime of orchestrating it.
