Lithuania’s State Border Guard Service reported on Tuesday that 14 illegal migrants were turned away at the border with Belarus over the past day.

Latvian border guards stopped 68 migrants on Monday, while Polish authorities prevented five foreigners from illegally crossing into Poland on Sunday.

This year, Lithuania has denied entry to 888 illegal migrants. In 2025, there were over 1,600 attempts to enter the country illegally from Belarus, compared to 1,002 in 2024.

Since the start of the migration crisis triggered by Belarus, Lithuanian border guards have prevented more than 25,000 foreigners from entering the country illegally. The influx of migrants to the EU’s eastern members via Belarus began in 2021, with Western nations accusing Minsk of orchestrating the crisis.
