Lithuania’s State Border Guard Service reported on Sunday that one irregular migrant was turned away at the border with Belarus.

Latvian border guards stopped 89 migrants on Saturday, while Poland recorded no attempts at illegal entry on Friday.

This year, Lithuania has prevented 874 irregular migrants from entering the country. In 2025, there were over 1,600 recorded attempts to cross from Belarus at unauthorised points, compared to 1,002 in 2024.

Since the start of the migration crisis triggered by Belarus, Lithuanian border guards have blocked over 25,000 foreigners from entering illegally. The influx of migrants to the EU’s eastern members via Belarus began in 2021, with Western officials accusing Minsk of orchestrating the crisis.
