Two-year-old dies after falling from window, kindergarten confirms

A kindergarten in Šiauliai, Lithuania, has announced the death of a two-year-old child who fell from a window earlier this week.

According to a report by LRT.lt, the incident occurred on Monday evening around 22:45 in a residential building on Ežero Street in central Šiauliai. Emergency services arrived to find the child unconscious on the ground after a caller reported an explosion and smoke. The boy, born in 2024, was taken to Šiauliai Hospital and later transferred to Kaunas Hospital for further treatment.

In a social media post, the “Ąžuoliukas” kindergarten and nursery community shared the news, stating: “Our kindergarten community has received devastating news—our pupil did not survive the severe trauma. The accident that happened a few days ago shocked everyone. Despite the efforts of medical professionals, it was not possible to save the child’s life. We express our deepest condolences to the family and loved ones. In this extremely difficult time, we wish them strength, unity, and the support of those close to them.”
