Two men break into home, assault woman and steal €1,600 in Trakai district

Two men broke into a house in the Trakai district, assaulted a woman and stole approximately €1,600, LRT reports, citing the Lithuanian Police Department.

The incident occurred on Tuesday morning around 8 a.m. in Senųjų Trakų village. A 48-year-old woman noticed two unknown men inside her home. They struck her in the face, took the money and fled.

Police have launched a pre-trial investigation into the robbery. Under Lithuanian law, those who use physical force or threats to immediately take another person’s property may face restrictions on freedom, arrest, or imprisonment for up to six years.
