A three-year-old child fell from a second-floor window in Kelmė on Tuesday, sustaining injuries, reports the Lithuanian Police Department via ELTA.

The incident occurred around 14:30 local time, with the child—born in 2023—rushed to Šiauliai Hospital by 15:20. Authorities have opened an investigation under criminal code provisions for serious health harm due to negligence.

This is the second such incident in the Šiauliai region recently. On Monday evening, another child, born in 2024, fell from a fourth-floor window in Šiauliai and was hospitalised. That case is being investigated for potential abuse of parental or guardian rights.
