A two-year-old boy was hospitalised after falling from a fourth-floor window in Šiauliai on Monday evening, LRT reports, citing police.
The incident occurred at around 22:45 in a residential building on Ežero Street in central Šiauliai. Emergency services arrived to find the child unconscious on the ground outside. Initial reports suggest the boy may have been left briefly unattended.
A caller had reported an explosion and smoke, but responders discovered the child instead. The boy was first taken to Šiauliai Hospital before being transferred to Kaunas for further treatment. Police escorted the ambulance to the hospital.
The child’s father was present at the scene but declined to comment. Authorities are investigating potential neglect of parental or guardian duties.
