Ruginienė awards bodyguards with firearms, grants bonus to VAT chief

Acting Prime Minister Inga Ruginienė has awarded six bodyguards from the VIP Protection Service (VAT) with Glock 17 pistols and granted a one-month bonus to the service’s director, Rymantas Mockevičius, according to a report by 15min.
The bodyguards—Kazimieras Rėksnis, Andžejus Borovskis, Gediminas Budrionis, Renatas Čapas, Aurimas Guiga, and Ieva Raukštė—received the firearms on June 22 in recognition of their contributions to personal, public, and state security. The order for Mockevičius’s bonus was signed on June 8.
Inga Dobrovolskas, an advisor to Ruginienė, stated that the officers, currently assigned to the prime minister’s protection, were awarded the service weapons for their professionalism, impeccable service, and significant role in ensuring security. The awards were presented on July 6, coinciding with the State Day (Coronation of Lithuanian King Mindaugas) and National Anthem Day.
“This award recognises the officers’ professionalism, flawless service, responsible performance of duties, and significant contribution to security,” Dobrovolskas told the portal.
