Body found in Neris River in Vilnius centre identified as drowned woman

Emergency services responded to a report of a body floating in the Neris River in central Vilnius on Monday morning, LRT.lt reports.
The incident was reported at around 11:00 local time, with a passerby noticing a body in the water near the White Bridge. Firefighters, medics, and police arrived at the scene and later retrieved the body from the river. Authorities confirmed the deceased was a woman who had drowned.
The body was pulled from the water a few hundred metres from where it was first spotted. Investigators are now working to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
