Temperatures to rise further with 36 degrees expected in places on Sunday
Temperatures in Lithuania will continue to climb, with some areas expected to reach 36 degrees Celsius on Sunday, according to Simona Dalinkevičiūtė, a synoptician at the Hydrometeorological Service, as reported by LRT RADIJAS and LRT.lt.
Sunday will be even hotter than Saturday, with sunny skies and only a thin layer of clouds in some places. A light, variable wind will offer little relief, with temperatures ranging from 31 to 36 degrees. Monday will be slightly hotter, with nighttime temperatures between 18 and 23 degrees. The day will remain clear and dry, with a calm wind, but temperatures could soar to 32-37 degrees, and the southern regions may even reach 38 degrees. Western areas will be slightly cooler, with temperatures between 27 and 31 degrees. After noon, some cumulonimbus clouds may form, bringing short thunderstorms and rain. Winds will be stronger, blowing from the west and northwest at moderate strength.
Tuesday and Wednesday will remain very warm. Tuesday night will see temperatures of 16-21 degrees, with daytime highs of 26-31 degrees. Some areas may experience heavier thunderstorms. On Wednesday, nighttime temperatures will drop to 14-19 degrees, while daytime highs will range from 22 to 27 degrees, reaching 30 degrees in some places. Nights and days will see more frequent thunderstorms, with stronger winds bringing a noticeable cooldown, according to the synoptician.
From Thursday onwards, the intense heat will subside, with daytime temperatures ranging from 21 to 26 degrees and nighttime temperatures between 15 and 19 degrees. Rain will contribute to the cooler conditions.
