A 1,000 euro bribe was given to Vilnius municipality officials for a construction permit related to a housing project developed by MP Robertas Puchovičius and his partners, according to a report by Verslo žinios.

The architect of the project on Moluvėnų Street in the capital, Mantas Žvybas, head of Vilniaus architektų, admitted to authorities that he paid the bribe to expedite approval for the building permit. The payment was made on July 2, 2021, two days after the permit was issued on June 29.

Puchovičius told Verslo žinios he had no knowledge of the bribe and had not discussed it with Žvybas. He confirmed his company continues to collaborate with Žvybas’ firm but denied any involvement in illegal requests for the permit. He stated he does not recall discussions about specific sums or agreements with officials.

Žvybas was found guilty of five criminal acts and fined 17,400 euros.
