Lithuania braces for extreme heat with temperatures up to 35°C this weekend

Lithuania is set for a significant heatwave, with temperatures expected to reach 29°C on Thursday and soar to 33-35°C over the weekend, according to Simona Dalinkevičiūtė, a synoptist at the Hydrometeorological Service, as reported by LRT RADIJAS and LRT.lt.

Thursday will start with fewer clouds, but they will increase later in the day. There may be light rain in some areas. A weak northwest to west wind will blow, with temperatures ranging from 24-29°C, except in the Curonian Spit, where it will be cooler at 20-23°C.

Friday night will be clear with calm winds and temperatures between 11-16°C. Friday will see few clouds, minimal rain probability, and temperatures of 25-30°C.

No rain is expected on Saturday and Sunday. Winds will calm at night and reach 5-10 m/s during the day. Night temperatures will be 12-17°C on Saturday and 15-20°C on Sunday, potentially making it feel humid, the synoptist warned.

Saturday will see temperatures of 28-33°C, while Sunday could reach 30-35°C. Coastal areas will be slightly cooler at 26-29°C.
