Scammers trick woman out of €10,000 in Vilnius
Scammers deceived a woman in Vilnius into transferring €10,000, police reported on Wednesday.
According to the Police Department, unknown individuals called the woman, born in 1948, at around 11:03 AM while she was at home. The callers, who spoke Russian, posed as employees of a telecommunications company and police officers, convincing her to transfer the money under false pretences. Authorities have launched a pre-trial investigation into the fraud.
