Contract for part of Rūdninkai military town’s second phase comes into force

A contract for part of the second phase of the Rūdninkai military town, intended for German troops, has come into force after the contractor, Rudina, secured financing, the Ministry of National Defence announced on Tuesday.

The agreement, signed earlier this year between Rudina and the ministry, now allows full-scale construction work to begin.

Aleksas Rozentalis, a representative of INVL Asset Management—a fund under Invalda INVL, the largest shareholder of Rudina—told BNS that the company would later on Tuesday announce which banks had signed financing agreements. Separate contracts for two other sections, signed with Estonian-owned construction firm Merko Statyba, are expected to take effect in the near future.
