Contract for part of Rūdninkai military camp’s second phase comes into force

A contract for part of the second phase of the Rūdninkai military camp, intended for German troops, has come into force after the contractor, Rudina, secured financing, the Lithuanian Ministry of National Defence (KAM) announced on Tuesday.

The agreement, signed between Rudina and KAM at the start of the year, now allows full-scale construction work to begin. Rudina is majority-owned by a fund managed by INVL Asset Management, part of the Invalda INVL group. A representative of INVL Asset Management, Aleksas Rozentalis, told BNS that the company would later announce which banks had signed financing agreements.

Separately, contracts for two other sections of the project, signed with the Estonian-owned construction company Merko Statyba, are expected to take effect in the near future.
