Lithuania’s State Border Guard Service (VSAT) reported that 13 illegal migrants were turned away at the border with Belarus over the past day.

According to VSAT, Latvia’s border service prevented 23 migrants from entering the country on Monday, while Polish authorities blocked five foreigners on Sunday.

Last year, Lithuanian border guards prevented more than 1,600 people from illegally crossing from Belarus, with 824 stopped so far this year. Since the start of the migration crisis triggered by Belarus, a total of 25,300 illegal migrants have been denied entry into Lithuania.

The influx of migrants to the eastern EU states began in 2021, with Western countries accusing the Minsk regime of orchestrating the crisis.
