People trapped in elevator near Kaišiadorys railway station

Several people, including a young child, were trapped in an elevator near Kaišiadorys railway station on Sunday evening, reports LRT.

The Kaunas Fire and Rescue Board stated that the incident occurred around 17:43 near J. Misiūno Square. A lift mechanic reported that two women and a 3-year-old child were stuck in the elevator at a height of 4 meters. The doors were forced open to allow fresh air inside.

Firefighters used an extendable ladder to rescue the two women and the child. The elevator was then cordoned off with a STOP tape.

This is not the first time people have been trapped in elevators near Kaišiadorys railway station. Similar incidents occurred several times last October, according to ELTA.
