Paraglider crash in Širvintų district leaves pilot dead

A paraglider crashed in the Širvintų district on Saturday evening, killing the pilot, reports LRT.lt.

The incident occurred around 21:30 near Lesčiūnai village in the Gelvonų eldership. The paraglider, piloted by a 54-year-old man, crashed in a field on the outskirts of Pusilgiškiai village. The pilot died at the scene, while a 35-year-old passenger sustained multiple injuries and was hospitalised.

Police have launched a pre-trial investigation to determine the cause of the crash and the pilot’s death.
