Warm weather expected in Lithuania this weekend
Lithuania will experience warm and calm summer weather this weekend, with temperatures reaching 25–30°C, according to the Lithuanian Hydrometeorological Service (LHMT).
Meteorologist Ineta Daunoravičiūtė said a high-pressure system will approach Lithuania on Saturday night, clearing the skies and eliminating the chance of rain. Winds will be light and variable, with overnight temperatures dropping to 9–14°C.
Saturday will bring warm and peaceful conditions, with partly cloudy skies and no precipitation. Temperatures will rise to 25–30°C, with light, shifting winds. On Sunday night, clouds will increase in western regions, with possible brief showers, while eastern Lithuania remains dry. Winds will be moderate from the south, with temperatures between 14–19°C.
Sunday may see thunderstorms in many areas, with temperatures again reaching 25–30°C, though coastal regions will stay cooler at 20–24°C. Monday night will bring thicker clouds and possible light rain in eastern regions, with winds of 5–10 m/s and temperatures of 13–18°C.
Monday is expected to be another sunny day, with little chance of rain and moderate winds. Temperatures will range from 21–26°C inland and 18–20°C on the coast.
Tuesday, the eve of the Joninės (Midsummer) festival, will also be warm and calm, with temperatures between 21–26°C inland and 18–20°C on the coast. Skies will be partly cloudy, with a low chance of rain and light westerly winds.
