Intensive supervision measure applied to Silickienė in State Plant Service corruption case
Agnė Silickienė, a suspect in a corruption case involving Lithuania’s State Plant Service, has been assigned an intensive supervision measure—an electronic monitoring ankle bracelet—by law enforcement, the BNS news agency reported on Thursday.
Elena Martinonienė, a spokesperson for the prosecutor’s office, confirmed to BNS that the measure had been applied to the individual in question. The news was first reported by the 15min news portal.
Silickienė, a former advisor to ex-Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis, is suspected of being a member of a criminal organisation that allegedly solicited bribes and may have acted as an intermediary in transferring money to others, including politicians. According to the General Prosecutor’s Office, the total amount of bribes in this case may have reached at least €1,112,000.
Investigators state that since June 2025, the former head of the State Plant Service, J. Kornijenko, his advisor Aurelijus Šapranauskas, and others allegedly distributed monthly bribes received from companies transporting plants and plant products. The bribes were in exchange for issued phytosanitary certificates and were shared among members of the criminal group and other individuals, including politicians.
Charges in the same case have also been brought against Skvernelis, former conservative MP Kazys Starkevičius, and several other individuals.
