Suspected drugs found in car with off-duty soldier in Panevėžys

Police in Panevėžys discovered suspected narcotic substances in a car carrying an off-duty soldier from the King Mindaugas Hussar Battalion, the LRT news site reported on Tuesday.

The incident occurred around 3 a.m. on Staniūnų Street, where officers stopped a 1996-born driver of an Audi A4. A passenger in the vehicle, a 2003-born soldier not on active duty, was found with a plastic bag containing white powder, believed to be a narcotic substance.

The suspect was detained and placed in custody. Authorities have launched a pre-trial investigation into the case.
