The council of Lithuania’s national public broadcaster LRT has approved its annual activity report, the ELTA news agency reported on Monday, citing council chairman Mindaugas Jurkynas.

The decision follows a May 19 meeting where the council initially rejected the 2025 report, requiring revisions based on members’ feedback. The latest approval comes during the first council session since parliamentary amendments to the public broadcaster’s law took effect.

During the open portion of Tuesday’s meeting, LRT director Monika Garbačiauskaitė-Budrienė presented audience changes. Closed sessions addressed the broadcaster’s operations during airspace restrictions, the selection of an internal service head, and plans for the 2025 report submission to the Seimas (parliament). Discussions also covered the composition of standing committees and implementation of State Audit Office recommendations.

Under the law, the council must publish and submit the annual report to the Seimas by July 1 each year. The report must include detailed revenue and expenditure execution data, funding source breakdowns, non-public service income, and associated expenses. If LRT resources serve both public and non-public functions, costs must be allocated proportionally.
