Man attacks officers with axe, subdued with stun gun

Footage released by the Šiauliai County Police Commissariat shows an incident in which a man attacked officers with an axe before being subdued with a stun gun, LRT.lt reports.

The incident occurred on the morning of June 11 after police received a report of domestic violence. Upon arrival, officers encountered an aggressive man armed with an axe. After deploying special equipment to disarm him, the man continued to resist and ignored lawful commands. During the arrest, he injured the officers, who later received medical treatment on an outpatient basis.

“Violence is not only directed at loved ones—officers responding to calls for help also face aggression and danger,” the police stated. “Every call can be unpredictable, so police work requires not only professionalism but also readiness to act in hazardous situations.”
