Lithuania’s Hydrometeorological Service has warned that parts of the country may experience squalls on Thursday, LRT reports.

Meteorologist Janas Vaitkevičius told LRT Radio that morning rain in eastern regions will spread across most of Lithuania by midday, with thunderstorms expected in many areas—particularly in the south, where hail is also possible. Winds will reach 9–14 m/s, with gusts of 15–20 m/s in some places.

Temperatures will range from 14–19°C in the west to 20–25°C in the east. Road maintenance crews have already prepared for potential squall damage, with the highest risk in Vilnius, Utena, and Panevėžys counties.

While weather conditions will calm slightly in the following days, Friday and the weekend will remain rainy, with daytime highs of 15–20°C. Moderate winds will persist, with occasional thunderstorms accompanying the rain.
