Lithuania to see weekend rain but warm temperatures will persist

Lithuania will experience rainy weather over the weekend, though warm conditions will continue, according to a forecast by the Lithuanian Hydrometeorological Service (LHMT) reported by LRT.

Meteorologist Simona Dalinkevičiūtė said a low-pressure system will move across the country on Saturday night, bringing thick cloud cover, widespread showers, and localised thunderstorms—particularly in eastern regions. Winds will shift from southeast to southwest at 6–11 m/s, with gusts up to 15–17 m/s during storms. Overnight temperatures will drop to 11–16°C.

On Saturday, high pressure will strengthen, resulting in partly cloudy skies with occasional brief showers, mainly in the northeast. Daytime temperatures will reach 18–23°C, accompanied by moderate westerly winds.

Sunday will see scattered short-lived showers, with light, variable winds. Clouds will thin overnight as pressure rises, reducing rain chances, though patchy fog may form in some areas. Morning lows will dip to 6–11°C.

A small rain band will approach from the southwest on Sunday, bringing isolated showers—most likely in the southwest—and possible thunderstorms. Winds will remain light and variable, with highs of 21–26°C, slightly cooler along the Curonian Spit.

The forecaster added that brief showers, some with thunder, will persist into early next week, though rainfall will become less widespread by Tuesday. Overnight lows will range from 10–15°C, with daytime highs returning to 20–25°C.
