Lithuania to see warm weather with heavy rain and thunderstorms in places

Lithuania’s warm summer conditions will continue on Friday, though heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected in some regions, the country’s Hydrometeorological Service has warned.

Forecasters predict mostly cloudy skies with occasional showers and thunderstorms nationwide, according to LRT Radio. Rainfall may intensify in the afternoon, particularly in southern and southeastern areas, where winds could reach gusts of 15–17 m/s during storms.

Daytime temperatures will range between 19–24°C.

Weekend outlook

Heavy rain will persist into Saturday night, with winds easing slightly but still gusting up to 15–18 m/s during thunderstorms. Overnight lows will drop to 11–16°C, while daytime highs on Saturday will reach 18–23°C—cooler along the coast at 15–17°C.

Sunday will bring scattered showers, lighter winds, and warmer conditions, with overnight temperatures of 7–12°C and daytime highs of 21–26°C (around 19°C in the Curonian Spit).

The trend of brief showers and warm days is expected to continue into early next week, with light to moderate winds and temperatures ranging from 10–15°C at night to 20–25°C during the day.
