Man with axe detained in Naujoji Akmenė after chasing minors

A 66-year-old intoxicated man was arrested in Naujoji Akmenė on Friday after threatening and chasing minors while wielding an axe, police reported.

According to the Telšiai District Chief Police Commissariat, the incident occurred at 5:35 PM on Vinco Kudirkos Street. The man, born in 1960, was heavily intoxicated with a blood alcohol level of 1.92‰. Witnesses reported that he behaved aggressively, shouted obscenities, and attempted to chase children in the yard while holding the axe.

No injuries were reported. The suspect was taken into custody, and a pre-trial investigation has been launched for disturbing public order.
