A 27-year-old man from Klaipėda has been sentenced to eight years in prison for possession and distribution of over 1.3 kilograms of cocaine, LRT reports.

The Klaipėda Regional Court found the man guilty of illegal handling and trafficking of a “very large quantity” of cocaine. In addition to the prison term, the court ordered the confiscation of nearly €3,000 in cash, over $470 in USDT cryptocurrency, and a mobile phone—all proceeds linked to the crime.

Investigators determined that the man used the messaging app Telegram to sell approximately 18 grams of cocaine for nearly €1,000 in cryptocurrency. After payment, he sent the buyer coordinates and video instructions to locate the hidden drugs in Klaipėda. A subsequent search of his residence uncovered the remaining 1.3-kilogram stash.

The verdict may be appealed to Lithuania’s Court of Appeal.
