New member sworn in to Panevėžys district council

A new member of the Panevėžys district municipal council, Darius Aleliūnas, was sworn in during Thursday’s session, local authorities reported.

Aleliūnas replaces Kazimieras Algirdas Budrys, a long-serving member of the Homeland Union–Lithuanian Christian Democrats (TS-LKD) faction and opposition leader, who died unexpectedly in late April. Like his predecessor, Aleliūnas was elected to the council on the TS-LKD ticket.

The new councillor holds an engineering qualification and works as chief energy specialist at the company Roquette Amilina.
