Drunk man points gun at police officers during arrest in Lithuania

A heavily intoxicated man pointed a pistol at police officers during an arrest in Lithuania’s Elektrėnai municipality on Wednesday evening, the Police Department reported.

The incident occurred around 6:52 p.m. in Pastrėvis village, where officers responded to reports of a potential suicide attempt. Upon arrival, the man—born in 1987 and with a blood alcohol level of 2.85‰—drew a Bersa Thunder 9Pro handgun and aimed it at officers from the Elektrėnai police station.

Authorities deemed the action a direct threat to the officers’ lives and health. The suspect was detained and taken to a hospital. A pre-trial investigation has been launched for resisting police.
