Cooler weather and strong winds forecast for parts of Lithuania

Temperatures in Lithuania will drop this week, with some regions seeing highs of just 14°C alongside strong winds, the country’s Hydrometeorological Service reported Tuesday.

According to forecaster Simona Dalinkevičiūtė, Wednesday will bring unstable cloud cover, with morning dry conditions followed by scattered showers and possible thunderstorms. Winds will be strong, blowing at 15–20 m/s from the northwest, with gusts up to 25 m/s near the coast and in eastern areas. Daytime temperatures will range from 15–20°C inland to just 12–14°C along the Baltic coast.

Overnight into Thursday, skies will partially clear, though brief showers may persist in places. Winds will remain strong at 15–16 m/s, with temperatures dropping to 5–10°C. Thursday will see a mix of dry spells and showers, again with possible thunderstorms, as winds reach 15–17 m/s. Highs will climb to 13–18°C.

The unsettled pattern continues Friday and through the weekend, with occasional rain and strengthening winds. Nighttime lows will hover between 4–11°C, while daytime highs gradually rise from 15–20°C on Friday to 17–22°C by Sunday. Coastal areas will remain cooler.
