Lithuania ends search operation for suspected drone

The Lithuanian military has called off a search operation for a suspected drone detected in the country’s airspace, state broadcaster LRT reported on Thursday.

In a statement, the Lithuanian Armed Forces confirmed that the operation—launched after radar systems identified an object matching drone characteristics—had been terminated. Authorities searched all potential crash sites in the Panevėžys and Utena regions but failed to locate the object.

Residents who encounter possible debris or suspicious objects are urged not to touch, move, or attempt to dismantle them and to immediately report findings by calling emergency services at 112. The military has also advised against photographing or sharing details of any discoveries on social media, emphasising the need to rely solely on official updates.
