Warm start to the week with temperatures up to 24°C, but strong winds may spoil the mood

The week in Lithuania will begin with warm weather, with temperatures reaching up to 24°C in places, though strong winds and later cooling will disrupt the conditions, according to the country’s Hydrometeorological Service.

Synoptic forecaster Janas Voitkevičius told LRT Radio that Monday will bring brief rain in some northeastern regions, but most areas will see plenty of sunshine. Wind speeds will reach 9–14 m/s, with gusts up to 15–17 m/s. Temperatures will range from 19–24°C inland and 14–18°C along the coast.

On Tuesday, scattered showers are expected overnight and during the day, with winds of 8–13 m/s and coastal gusts up to 18 m/s. Daytime temperatures will drop to 17–22°C, while coastal areas will see a cooler 13–16°C.

Wednesday will bring more widespread brief rain and possible thunderstorms, with overnight winds of 7–12 m/s and daytime gusts up to 20 m/s. Temperatures will continue to fall, reaching just 13–18°C.

Similar conditions are forecast for Thursday, with strong gusts up to 18 m/s, scattered rain, and possible thunderstorms. Highs will only reach 12–17°C.

Some improvement is expected by Friday, with fair and sunny weather and temperatures climbing back to 15–20°C. The chance of rain will be low.
