Lithuania to enjoy warm weekend before weather shift
Lithuania will see pleasant spring warmth this weekend before temperatures drop early next week, the country’s Hydrometeorological Service told national broadcaster LRT on Saturday.
A high-pressure system will bring dry and mild conditions through the weekend, with daytime highs reaching 18–23°C in most regions. Coastal areas will remain cooler at 13–17°C.
Saturday will bring partly cloudy skies, with the southwest seeing the most sunshine. Brief, light showers may occur in the northeast, accompanied by westerly winds of 5–10 m/s.
Sunday’s weather will remain similar, though a weak atmospheric front may bring scattered light rain across much of the country. Winds will strengthen to 8–13 m/s, with temperatures holding steady at 18–23°C inland and 13–17°C near the coast.
The shift arrives on Monday, when no significant rain is expected but westerly winds will persist. Nighttime lows will dip to 6–11°C, with daytime highs of 17–22°C—cooler along the coast.
More substantial rain is forecast for Tuesday, with winds locally reaching 15–18 m/s. Temperatures will drop further, to 9–14°C at night and 15–20°C during the day (12–14°C on the coast). A continued cooling trend is expected by midweek.
